DECCS FAMILY

The DECCS, acronym for “Disposable Exhaled Condensate Collection System”, are the disposable circuits for sample collection: their modular and functional design make them different from any other products on the market and unique for their simplicity and versatility.

The components have been designed and manufactured through plastic injection (neutral granules of a medical grades PE-HD or PP) without releasing contaminants and with a very low water absorption: they are particularly adapt for research of metals in the exhaled air (Goldoni et al., 2007-Goldoni et al., 2006-Mutti et al, 2006). As suggested by the latest guidelines of ERS/ATS, they are completely single use: in fact the use for more than one time of the circuit, even if cleaned and sanitized, it is a practise highly inadvisable because of the risks of residual contamination by disinfectants or, even worse, by virus and bacterias.

Their constructive composition, carefully formulated to be efficient but also simple, guarantees the best sanitary safety, both of the patients as well as of the samples collected: it gives the optimum return in terms of the number of samples to be collected over a limited time period.

The risk of salivary contamination of the samples is essentially not existent by using a special saliva trap which forms part of the equipments unique design.

The standard method of collection named DECCS 23 ST is normally used for the collection of the condensed air (EBC) with a condenser device TURBO; for “Pilot Studies” that require a small number of samples for a preliminary survey at low costs, is used a PILOT STUDY KIT:   is a device for the EBC collection that works through the pre-cooling method, exactly comparable and correspondent to the competitor RTube: it is portable, it doesn’t have the temperature controller because it needs an external source for the cooling of the Aluminum sleeve. Pilot Study System is more efficient and less expensive of the RTube.

For the sampling of VOCs, the device AAV 23 is used with specialized circuits DECCS 23 VOCs with the insertion of one or more Tedlar bags or Tenax cartridges: in addition, a special sampling pump is used. The collected content in these special bags is then analysed in laboratories by GC/MS and others techniques.

AAV 23 GOLD

AAV is the acronym for “Alveol Air Valve” and the number that follows indicates the model and the year in which it has been introduced into the market.
It’s an electronic unit specifically designed and manufactured to improve the research and study of the exhaled breath ( EBC ), enabling the collection of a sample of alveolar air.
AAV is the only electronic device actually avaiable in the market and it is Patented.

WARNINGS

The sampling circuits are supplied separated from the TURBO cooler
Each circuit is packed in a plastic bag thermo welded, and includes the instruction for use
The sampling circuits are available in cardboard box (containing 10, 25 or 50 pieces in, depending on the model).

OPTIONS

Special disposable circuits could be realized on demand.
